Thank you friends!
“The Ice Theatre of New York is onto something, and it deserves greater support.”
Chief Dance Critic from 1977 to 2006 at the New York Times, our 2025 Ice Angel Awardee Anna Kisselgoff
Dear Friends,
First, I want to thank you for helping sustain ITNY over the past 40 years! The coming year will be built around a deeply meaningful theme for the company: Echoes & Origins.
Please consider making ITNY a part of your year-end giving in the amount of $50, $100, $250, $500, $1,000, $5,000 or any amount that is meaningful to you. Contributions large and small help Ice Theatre of New York to thrive and keep the magic happening.

“Since its inception, Ice Theatre of New York has become a testament of enduring artistic vision, groundbreaking performances, and unwavering commitment to promoting ice dancing as a legitimate performing art. For four decades, Ice Theatre has been a pioneer in blending figure skating with contemporary dance and theatrical performance, transforming frozen stages into vibrant canvases for creative expression and elevating the art of skating beyond the competitive realm.”
– From the NYC Council Proclamation in celebration of ITNY’s 40th Anniversary presented by Council Member Erik Bottcher
Since I created Ice Theatre of New York back in 1984, we have rehearsed and performed at our home – Sky Rink!
“Over four decades, the Ice Theatre of New York has been a beacon of creativity, artistry, and innovation in the world of ice skating—the first non-profit professional ice dance company. Your dedication to pushing the boundaries of performance and your commitment to nurturing the next generation of talent have not only enriched the lives of countless individuals but have elevated the art of ice skating to new heights, turning Sky Rink into a cultural destination for audiences and a training ground for talented skaters from across the globe.”
– Chelsea Piers Leadership Team, founders, Roland Betts, Tom Bernstein, and David Tewksbury
Looking ahead to 2026, ITNY is excited to continue the following programs:
- presenting dozens of free City Skate Concerts for the public at Bryant Park, Rockefeller Center and Wollman Rinks.
- two ticketed events at Chelsea Piers Sky Rink
- outreach programming, our New Works and Young Artists Series for public school children all over NYC
- sponsoring talented young skaters from our outreach program in learn-to-skate in their area
“As keepers of the sport, and as keepers of the art, and as keepers of the industry no one, in my mind, has done it better than the Ice Theatre of New York. In really celebrating excellence, celebrating creativity, celebrating art and celebrating quality.”
– Scott Hamilton, our 2025 Lifetime Achievement Awardee
