2005 HOME SEASON

Ice Theatre of New York presented "Dance Visions on Ice" - a celebration of choreography at Sky Rink, Chelsea Piers on Manhattan's West Side from October 17 th - 21 st .   A perfect The Ensemble was joined this year by the two-time and reigning World Dance Champions, Tatiana Navka and Roman Kostomarov, the 2003 Junior World Ladies Champion, Yukina Ota, and blend of contemporary dance and figure skating, "Dance Visions on Ice" takes artistic figure skating to new lengths. As usual, Moira North and her Company continue to cut a deep edge into the vanguard of this new genre of performing art.

"Dance Visions on Ice" is a celebration of choreography, both skating and dance, and presents pieces that have been restaged for this year's performance season. The choreographers honored in "Dance Visions on Ice" are:   Elisa Monte for her "Draughtsman's Contract", JoAnna Mendl Shaw for "Ritual in 7s", Peter DiFalco for "Tango Images", Carlos Orta for "El Duende", Heather Harrington for "Once Again", David Liu for "2:1", and Douglas Webster for "Departures", "Danse Macabre", and "On the Town".

Company principal, David Liu. For one night only, the Israeli Dance Champions, Galit Chait and Sergei Sakhnovski, performed their new free dance which will be presented at the 2006 Olympic Games in Turin, Italy in February. Navka and Kostomaorov also debuted their Olympic free dance, "Carmen" at "Dance Visions on Ice". Ice Theatre wishes both teams great success in Turin.
