Open Rehearsal, Master Class and Performance

5:30 p.m.-7:00 p.m. OPEN REHEARSAL
The Ice Theatre of New York ensemble will rehearse pieces for the upcoming, Ice Theatre of New York annual performance and Gala.

7:00 p.m.-7:45 p.m. MASTER CLASS
Come this rare opportunity to participate in an Ice Theatre of New York master class. Developed as a “daily barre” class alternative on ice, Ice Theatre's Plie Power Workshop is now used to teach Ice Theatre ensemble members. The workshop’s on-ice format is similar to that of a dance class with a large group lesson being taught to music. Participants perform a sequence of steps ranging from basic to advanced difficulty. Sequences are then performed in small groups to develop spatial sensitivity among skaters and to facilitate flow on open freestyle sessions. Taught by renowned ice choreographer, Douglas Webster joined by Ice Theatre of New York skating talent. Open to Preliminary skaters and above.
Class is free but you must RSVP at itny@icetheatre.org <file://localhost/x-msg/::131:itny@icetheatre.org>  to participate

7:45 p.m.- 8:20 p.m. LECTURE DEMO AND PERFORMANCE OF SELECT PIECES
For your viewing pleasure: a selection of pieces by ice and dance choreographers from the Ice Theatre of New York repertory, to be performed at the upcoming, 2009 Ice Theatre of New York Benefit Gala and Performance.
