Tilt-A-Whirl
TILT-A-WHIRLFrom Ice Theatre of New York's 2009 Fall Benefit Performance
Choreography by Lar Lubovitch
Costumes by Elisa Metrevelli
Music by Philip Glass
Performed by Elisa Angeli and Ji?í Procházka
It is a restaging of this piece originally premiered by John Curry and Peggy Fleming.
"Mr. Lubovitch has taken excerpts from Mr. Glass's North Star and created "Tilt-a-Whirl," an unabashedly sensuous duet. "Tilt-a-Whirl" lives up to its name, crammed as it is with offkilter glides and dizzying vertical and arabesque spins. Mr. Lubovitch has described his dances as "unbroken ribbons of shape" and the medium of ice dance lends itself well to that look of continuous flow." - Jennifer Dunning, NY Times
