Ice Theatre of New York, the city's most prominent artistic ice dance company, presented the last performance of its 2003 Concert Series at The Rink at Rockefeller Plaza on Wednesday, March 19, at 1 PM. Ice Theatre repertory works by Katherine Healy and Associate Artistic Director Doug Webster were performed by the Company Ensemble. THROUGH THE GLASS, DARKLY, choreographed by Healy, is an ice ballet in memory of Olympic Gold Medalist/ World Champion John Curry. Healy is a former principal dancer with the Vienna State Opera Ballet Company, Les Ballets de Monte Carlo, and the London Festival Ballet. Webster's work, ON THE TOWN, is set in the 1940s to the music of Leonard Bernstein. The playful piece features nine skaters, the joyous music propelling them through a delightful celebration of New York City's vibrancy. Performing as a special guest artist was two-time Swiss National Champion Lucinda Ruh, who is renowned for her sleek, artistic spins.
