2005 SERIES AT THE RINK AT ROCKEFELLER PLAZA
The 2005 Concert Series at the Rink at Rockefeller Plaza marked the Company’s 19th year performing at the world’s most famous rink. These concerts featured guest artists, the Ensemble, apprentices, and children from the Ice Theatre/Sky Rink Performance Club. Among the works presented were David Parsons’ “Twist” performed by Line Haddad and David Tankersley; “Kodo”, choreographed by Moira North, performed by Angela Chiang (former apprentice, now company member), “Bolero”, choreographed by Elena Garanina and performed by guest skaters, the US Junior National Dance Champions, Morgan Mathews and Max Zavozin, and “Hot Chocolate”, performed by the Ensemble. “Hot Chocolate”, choreographed by Douglas Webster, was created especially for the premiere of the movie, “Polar Express”. In the last of this Concert Series, Ensemble Director, Judy Blumberg, performed “Reminiscence”, a beautiful solo piece choreographed by Douglas Webster which allowed Ms. Blumberg and her audience a trip down memory lane, evoking memories of Blumberg’s illustrious international competitive career.
