Home Season Highlights
The Ice Theatre of New York ensemble wowed us with their artistry and skill--
their talents showcased in both new and classic repertory of dance on ice. The Home Season featured three world premiers: Inner Eye by Bessie award-winning, Artistic Director of the
Sokolow Theatre/Dance Ensemble Jim May; Falling Leaves by renowned skating choreographer Douglas Webster and Caruso, choreographed and performed by principal Ice Theatre skater and aerialist, Elisa
Angeli. Restaged repertory included Transitions by Webster, Tango Images by acclaimed ballroom dance choreographer, Peter di Falco; and Draughtsman’s Contract
by the internationally recognized, Elisa Monte. The Home Season brought together a large cast of skaters including national ice dance competitors, Eve Chalom, Jamie Silverstein,
Brent Bommentre, Joel Dear and Michael Solonoski, and included guest artists 2010 British Silver Medalists Penny Coomes and Nicholas Buckland, who delighted the
crowd with their competitive program, "Viva Elvis". Young Artist
Showcase finalist Kate McSwain demonstrated her choreographic talents with,
"Endurance", a piece she set on two Ice Theatre ensemble members.
